Ready for Birth is a six week series for birth preparation. As we meet each week you and your support person will learn about labor and birth, practice positions and techniques to help cope with labor pain, spend time reflecting on your pregnancy and your baby, and build connections with other expecting parents. This class is designed for parents who desire a birth with minimal interventions but is appropriate for any birth setting.
Session topics include:
Anatomy of Pregnancy
Stages of Labor
Understanding Pain and Pain Relief
Coping Techniques for Labor
Interventions and Emergencies
Preparing for Postpartum
Newborn Care and Feeding
In order to maintain the intimacy of the class, space is limited to 7 birthing parents and their support person(s). Registration is required.
Each six week session costs $150. Partial scholarships are available to families in need. Please email the instructors if you need a scholarship.
The class is free for existing clients of Harbor Community Birth.
A note about older children
Because the teaching space is small, we ask that you not bring older siblings to the class.
If you have questions about the class or have difficulty registering please call Kaide at 206-778-2347 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
